GOVERNOR 2010

I am the only candidate who will reverse the trend of social decay that threatens our civilization. I am an electrician who works with my wife of 28 years, Janet. Born J. Martin King in Orlando. Family separated and Mother remarried to Edmond Vachon, a disciplined human. I became J. Martin Vachon through legal adoption. And I became the third of five generations testing the limits of humanity; and after my 5th divorce, the only place I found to live was a Sanford chronic slum. 1980 to 1981, alone, I realized how far off the scale of human I had grown. My behavior was more dog than human, with a feeling of zero self worth. CHANGE: I realized everyone in my life had been used as a stepping stone. I blame no individual for my life's behavior pattern.

In 1964 my first divorce attorney said I had to go to marriage counseling. A couple of 1/2 hour sessions with a kindly, sympathetic older lady and I overcame my feelings of guilt about divorcing and abandoning my family. I learned to be a self centered person. The fifth family provided a comfortable life: Broken financially and in spirit, but really unchanged. Her friends recommended the "free-to-welfare-recipients Family Counseling" to help the domestic situation. "Go out with a friend"; "Sleep with a friend"; "That guy is no different than anyone else!" So went marriage #5.

1981, mourning the loss of #5 and my life ebbing away, I knew from past experience that a new woman would give me a life, only this time, it would be different: A life of respect, honor and helping her to grow a life, with the realization that I would grow with her. Janet was the first person I was introduced to. She had the typewriter I used to write a petition to close the counseling service. Janet agreed to a personal relationship and I asked her to marry me after our first date. This year is our 28th anniversary. Our lives have steadily progressed from slum welfare recipient to being your Governor in 2010. I am ready to identify and remove from government, the dehumanizing forces in Education and Social Services. These items are 80% of state budgets. Look at what is produced:

1. Half our families divorce.

2. Half our children are with single parents.

3. A growing jail population.

4. A growing rate of domestic violence with the extremes being suicide and murder.

I am a pacifist. As the Marines say, "It is all a game." I wish to arouse an awareness, not violence, among our voters. All through history, hatred has been aroused, followed by acts of violence, with damage and little or no gain.

Maybe there are some of you who have lost more than myself. Do not hate, but stand with me and turn Maine's government to an old direction: the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution granted us freedom based on responsibility. As individual responsibility is given to the state, we become lesser people.

Socialism is Elitist Rule with the dismissal of individual responsibility, making weaker people that Government will care for. As these dehumanizing forces become obvious and Government grows to Authoritative Totalitarian, it must 'take all' and rule every facet of our lives. As Governor in 2010, I will reverse this trend of Social Decay that threatens our civilization.

In November 1981, in a conversation with New Hampshire Governor Meldrim Thomson, I explained the dismantling of families by this counseling service; that it did not belong in a free peoples government and that I wanted to run for Governor and end it. Governor Thomson answered, "I know. Maine's Government is of failing Socialism shifting to Authoritative Totalitarian. I wish you well to accomplish this."

MAY 2009: The Gay Marriage Judiciary Committee hearing at the Augusta Civic Center. In my testimony I said, "I am J. Martin Vachon of Mariaville, Governor 2010 and would never be unkind to the gay community. We all owe our physical being to a heterosexual relationship, a marriage, a traditional family. Some may have lasted only one hour after bar closing. Janet and I have been married for 27 years. Prior to this, we have experienced the trauma of our traditional families coming apart. I sympathize with the Gay Community for the loss of traditional family. Introduction of the Gay Marriage Bill is the work of the most ancient form of government...failing socialism. It is an attack on the strength of traditional family to make us weaker people, with a shift to Totalitarian." Catholic Bishop Richard Malone commended me with, "Keep up the good work."

MY GOALS: That Social Services no longer dismantle families, but repairs them. That Educational Systems teach traditional family values where children respect family and become functional members of that family.

HEALTH CARE is a personal responsibility. Not growing complex law to promote the Elitist element. Simplify law to easily right the wrongs. A satisfying productive life for everyone, not the promise of a handful of "GOOD JOBS" for a few.

To reduce taxes with less Government.

Civilization and Humanity are frail and artificial and must be carefully maintained. A traditional family provides the best standard of living for all its' members. A Traditional Family is a wealth gathering process. If your interests are in your home, you can build and grow. If corrections of our behavior are not accomplished, we remain locked in ignorance, living a lesser life. A man and a woman who constantly reinforce each other grow humanity. If done right there are never losses, only gains.

ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT: Hydro Electric Systems can be a plus for the environment and provide nearly free residential electricity for all of Maine. It also provides recreational lakes. Major Electric Transmission lines passing through Maine from Canada to major population centers outside our state should pay Maine a toll. A friendly competition of how we handle water that passes through our land, that its' quality be improved as it leaves our property. Short needle conifers and mosses provide the best filtering and storage of water.

The 2006 Maine primary cost the GOP the Blaine House. Let's eliminate a damaging 2010 Primary. I ask for the other candidates to unify and support me for Governor 2010. None of the other Gubernatorial candidates are qualified to turn back this Socialist Threat.
