| This was my first try at building a musical
instrument. I used wood that I found in the ruins of an old house. I had a
copy of
Foxfire 3 for my inspiration. The completion date July 4, 1976 is
scratched into the inside of the back. This date was intentionally
chosen to correlate with the bicentennial of the US. It never had a proper skin on it. I tried stretching some thin leather on a wood hoop but it was dismal. I ended up making a thin wood sound board which has since been lost, along with the bridge, tailpiece, and remaining pegs. It's been stored in various cellars over the past 29 years. |
